Wardialler

Wardialler is quite possibly my favourite album ever. You'd think it'd be a hard category to choose a #1 for, but there's just something about this album. Its listenability, its vibes, its existence as a companion to a game. I think, maybe, the stars aligned when I found this album. If I remember correctly, I was searching the web for "hacking games" and came across Wardialler. Seeing that it had a companion album, I obviously listened to it while playing the game. The story and mechanics of Wardialler were, and still are, so incredibly fascinating to me. I think the album conveys feelings rather well and definitely adds a layer of immersion to the game.
Outside of the game, the album is just wonderful and very versatile. I find I can enjoy it alongside any task, and it's especially nice to fall asleep to. My favourite track would have to be 'A Logic Problem'. The melody is absolutely captivating. It almost feels existential and honestly, along with the mechanical sounds and the title, it reminds me quite a bit of The Last Question by Isaac Asimov. (If you know me, you know how much I adore that story.) Overall, I'm in love with this album. It is the main attraction in the museum of my heart. And finally, it is my lifetime most-listened album on Spotify, clocking in at over 340 hours. Thank you, nervous_testpilot.

Tunnel of No Light
October Tide
Tunnel of No Light is certainly the album that kicked off my interest in death-doom. I don't even remember how I came to know of this album. Perhaps it came to me in a dream? (I'm joking... or am I?) What I do know is that I found this album, or rather this album found me around the same time I decided I wanted to make a website. I would listen to it on repeat at the time. As such, listening to Tunnel of No Light gives me those deja-vu-esque memories of sitting in my dark room, hunched over my computer, trying to figure out the basics of web design.
Another album with guitars so good I could die. My favourite track would have to be 'In Hopeless Pursuit', though 'Emptiness Fulfilled' is also wonderful. I think this album sounds unlike much else I've heard, even with other death-doom bands, which is another reason I would place it in my top ten. Unique, dark, tragic, beautiful.

Martyre
Saturnus
Saturnus was the the first death-doom band I came across after finding October Tide. I actually listened to 'Paradise Belongs to You' first, but Martyre very quickly became my favourite album of theirs. The lead-in from '7' to 'Inflame Thy Heart' still gives me goosebumps when I listen to it; same with 'Noir' and 'A Poem (Written in Moonlight)'. Definitely an album worth listening to from start to finish.
My favourite is stuck between 'Noir' and 'Drown My Sorrow'. I love the guitar on this album, and am inclined to call it sinfully good. I would recommend this album to everybody, and without any regard for their tastes, honestly. Obviously some might not enjoy it, but it's an experience everyone should try at least once. Truly one of my albums of all time.
